The
'cinematic' photography of Peter is a world of contrasts....
from vibrant, colour-bursting Burlesque and contemporary, modern
themed Pin-Up and Fetish shoots to dark and gory edged sessions
that are styled in a Horror-like fashion.
Whichever theme, model or setting, Peter sure knows how to produce
a quality image, and his mastery to accent curves, atmospheres
and features gives his work this extra dimension and impact
that shine throughout his portfolio.
Peter started as a digital photographer in 2000 and launched
DarkmindedAngels in 2003, specializing in Cinematic, Dark, Film-Noir,
Burlesque, Freakshow and Fantasy photography.
His
career is firmly rooted in the film industry with qualifications
as a Film Major in the USA, followed by the NYFA Film Program
in New York City, reflecting the movie-like atmospheres in his
work.
He
got his first taste of Fetish & Burlesque when he had the
opportunity to shoot with Dita Von Teese during his college
days, when she visited Boston in 2003.
During
his time in New York City he worked part time as house photographer
for the biggest SM dungeon in NY, Pandora's Box, and their NYC
domina/fetish magazine, The Vault (Oct 2005 - March 2006 &
Dec 2006 - Jan 2007). In 2007 he moved back to his native city
Amsterdam where he continued photography and adopted more styles
in various underground scenes.
Peter´s work is mostly inspired by filmmakers rather than
by other photographers. His inspirations include Dario Argento,
Dante Tomaselli, Stuart Gordon, David Cronenberg, Takashi Miike,
Alejandro Jodorowsky, Michelle Soavi, and videographer Floria
Sigismondi.
Besides
photography Peter also does video art, performances with his
performace group TBS,
and through 2010-2014 he helped the Amsterdam Halloween team
organizing an annual Halloween Parade in Amsterdam. Over the
years his photography work has given him a cult status within
various Amsterdam scenes.
